Overview

Defend the skies in a challenging, 7800 adaptation of an arcade classic. This vertically scrolling shooter game was first released in 1985 as an arcade game, and became a hit thanks to its fun, challenging gameplay and detailed graphics. Though Tiger-Heli has been ported to numerous other consoles, it never made its way onto an Atari console until now. Fly across 4 challenging stages and destroy 12 different enemy vehicles and infrastructure as you rack up your high score.

You have been given command of the Tiger-Heli chopper, one of the most advanced pieces of equipment available, with orders to take down a rogue nation plotting worldwide destruction. Maneuver your chopper over dangerous terrain with hostile fire trained on your position. Cripple their defensive capabilities with blasters and bombs to rack up as many points as possible. Recruit Mini-Helis to fly at your side to double your firepower. Your goal is to make it through four stages into the heavily fortified military base known as the Mega-Fortress.

A favorite in arcades across the country, this is the first time that Tiger-Heli has been available on an Atari console. Though the game has been ported to other consoles, this will be its Atari debut.

Rewarding challenge

I have this game in evercade and I thought that version was hard! This game is a real challenge but it is so rewarding the further you make it. It looks and sounds great and will give me hours if not days of fun

The reason I bought a 7800+

I've loved this game since I had it on (that other company's system that came out in the mid-80s) and this new port for the Atari Plus systems is better! Better sound and fluidity, and there is zero flickering of sprites! Pair this game with a third party arcade stick and go to town!

Excellent game. Hard but you learn from your mistakes the more you play. Much better than the old NES version by far.

Game is great

Game is great. Takes me back in time to being a kid again. Something nostalgic about opening a physical copy with a real manual and plugging in to play. You don’t get that with a digital download!

This Atari 7800 Version is awsome

This Atari 7800 Version is awsome. I'm probably because I love flying shooters. In my opinion it is much better than the NES version and rivals the arcade (slightly below). If you like flying shooters you will not be disappointed with this purchase!
