Since 1972
THE VIDEO GAME THAT CHANGED THE WORLD
With Pong, the video game industry was born. Released in 1972, Pong introduced the world to an unprecedented medium that inspired generations.
Deriving the game from table tennis, Atari co-founders Nolan Bushnell and Allan Alcorn made the concept incredibly basic to understand, but added enough nuance so the game was “easy to learn, difficult to master.”
Today, Atari is committed to expanding accessibility to retro games and preserving arcade history for future generations. Pong’s legacy endures.
