I wasn’t around during the original glory days of the console but I can’t stop playing! Atari is the definition of old school and these games are F.U.N!

The magic of the past.

I was transported back in memory to my childhood and moments spent with my siblings and friends, moments that will never be possible again in real life! This video game is magical!

As retro vintage as you can get

If you get one thing from Atari.com this is the product…it plays exactly like the old system. I have it hooked up to a CRT tv and it works perfectly. I might switch and hook it up to an Aiwa DVD TV system I bought to have it in widescreen and have a mini arcade. Highly recommended if you played these games before

I absolutely love this

I absolutely love this. Now I can dust off all my old games and play them on a brand new system and the best part it works on the newer TVs unlike my original 2600.

A must-have for GenX!

This was the console that brought me back into the Atari collecting hobby after a 40-year absence! The retro look and feel are amazing, and the HDMI picture looks amazing on a modern flatscreen. I wish the 2600+ was compatible with some of the auxiliary controllers (keyboard, driving, etc.), but that's a nitpick. Overall, one of the best investments I've made in years.

Amazingly fun!

I can’t overstate my love for my 2600+. I’d never owned—or even played—anything Atari until I got inspired to purchase my 2600+. I love that it uses original and new cartridges, the fact that it connects to my modern television with HDMI, and that Atari releases firmware updates to improve the console. I must admit that I got it primarily to play the legendarily infamous 2600 Pac-Man… and it has been worth it. I love my 2600 so much that I even bought my mom her first Atari, which she never had growing up!

Great console!

As a person who haven’t grown up playing Atari I have enjoyed this console.the ten games that have came with it have all been a blast.

I really enjoy being able to step back in time

I really enjoy being able to step back in time and see how video games were back then. I love all the arcade classics. Only issue is the stick isn’t the most comfortable for long sessions buts to be somewhat expected with the design.

Soo much fun to be able to play my old cartridges and not having issues with converting signals

Soo much fun to be able to play my old cartridges and not having issues with converting signals. And having DIP switches on the 10 in 1 game cartridge was master class to use old elec needs!

I picked up the Atari 2600+ expecting a nostalgia hit, and it delivered — but it’s also become one of the more interesting pieces of hardware on my desk as a software engineer.
First, the vibe: this is the console every 90s kid grew up hearing about. Plugging in a cartridge, flipping the power switch, seeing those chunky pixels on a modern TV — it’s a kind of joy that a PS5 just doesn’t scratch. It’s simple, immediate, and physical.
But the real surprise is how much of a learning tool it is. If you’re curious about how computers actually work underneath the abstractions — CPU cycles, memory constraints, bit-banging graphics — the 2600 ecosystem is gold. Studying 6507 assembly and the quirks of the TIA chip teaches you more about low-level systems than a year of high-level coding.
Retro fun and an engineering rabbit hole in one box. Highly recommended.

Man, I love this thing

Man, I love this thing. I have been a casual Atari fan my whole life, but I have become obsessed since getting my 2600+ a few years ago. I have built up a huge collection, and I play with my son (who also loves it) all the time. Everything feels right, everything works like it should...it is definitely the best and easiest way to play these games today. Everybody should have one!

Great comeback

The Atari 2600+ is a great comeback and looks really cool in the living room. The pack in Atari games that come with it are a nice bonus. The load time for the games are a little bit longer than I would like it to be, but once it’s loaded up and working, it works amazingly.

Amazing!

I didn't get mine from Atari but I love it and have used it for hours and the ten games that come with it are great too but I feel like it should come with a second controller because it's always just me playing alone so don't buy if you NEED 2 players.

Very nice replica

Brings back a lot of old memories of when I was a child playing on my Atari (I had a Sears rebrand). It's great how it can use old cartridges. Only con is I wish the joystick was a bit better. Otherwise it's still great.

Love it!

As a GenX guy I am really loving this console. It reignited my love for Atari games and I've collected over 60 cartridges since I bought it. I like the fact I can play original 40 year old cartridges on a modern TV with crystal clear graphics. Enjoying Atari in a whole new way. Thank you Atari!

The best way to play the 2600 library on modern TVs.

The fact you can just get one of these with a controller and 10-in-1 cartridge is one heck of a deal! I also love the fact it'll even take old cartridges from back in the day and how its forward-compatible with 7200 games. If your TV already has a free USB port and HDMI port than you're good to go! I only have two complaints; 1) It takes about 10-20 seconds for the console to get the game ready. I understand they're using an emulator but all of the 2600 games never exceed 1MB of space so these games should ready to play immediately. 2.) The cords for the controllers are too short. An official extension cable would be nice to have.

TL;DR
+ It's the best way to play not only the 2600 library but 7200 library as well since you only need an open USB and HDMI port on your TV.
+ The included 10-in-1 cartridge is a great addition (though personally I would've substituted Surround with Asteroids)
- The cord for the controller is too short at 3 ft. An official extension cable would be nice as an option.
- Takes about 10-20 seconds to get into a game despite all 2600 games being under 1MB in size. This is mostly because Atari is using an emulator as a shortcut.

Overall, I recommend the 2600+ if you know someone that grew up playing these games or you wanna experience video game history for yourself.

Bringing back my childhood memories is priceless

Bringing back my childhood memories is priceless. My parents spent so much on my Atari cartridges. But I kept them in the box in perfect shape for almost 50 years.

Awesome!

This was a gift and it was perfect. Emulation is good and it looks good on an HD tv. It plays the original carts well also.

The best looking Atari console

That wood grain is so iconic and how cool that it plays 7800 games and homebrews. Easy to update the software. Would buy again.

Bringing Life back to my old games

This was my Christmas present to myself. It has worked wonderfully unlike other Atari systems that didn't connect well with most of my televisions. It has been wonderful to dust off my old games and play. Highly recommend if you still have the games hanging around,.

This is a great option to play my old cartridges.

This has been a great product for me. All my old carts work perfectly. I love the Atari 2600 retro look. The feel of the controllers brings back that nostalgic feeling.

Great Memories

Love playing again. Still had my original console but didn't enjoy playing because it didn't play well on the flat screen TV. The new one with HDMI hookup plays like I remember.
