Avalanche 2600

Fun game.

This is an excellent port of the 1978 coin-op by Atari. The paddle movement is silky smooth which allows you to pace with the boulders as the difficulty ramps up RACK after RACK. If you're into paddle games, you owe it to yourself to add this one to your collection.

Another fun paddle game. Easy to pick up and play but challenging to master. Very enjoyable

As a big fan of Kaboom for the 2600 and an Old school arcade gamer, I always suspected that Avalanche (Arcade) was the inspiration for Kaboom. Man am I glad to see this finally get it's due. It's a great port that plays smoother that the arcade , Thanks to the Paddles! If you loved Kaboom or Crackpot or even Roof Pooper...This Game is their Daddy

Avalanche is a simple but surprisingly engaging Atari 2600 title built entirely around reflexes and timing. The objective is straightforward: catch the falling rocks before they stack up and end the game. What makes it work is the steady increase in speed, which quickly turns a basic concept into a genuine challenge. Each round feels manageable at first, then ramps up just enough to push you into mistakes and immediately make you want another try. It’s a good example of Atari taking a minimal idea and executing it well, delivering the kind of focused, replayable gameplay that defined early console classics.

Love this one! It’s so nice to have new games for the paddle controller.

Its great when a new version of an old game comes out and its this fun. Think Kaboom's granddaddy and you are close. Things drop and caught, beeps get higher, score rises, difficulty increases, fun is had. Paddle only!

This is one of those "one more try" games. Im using the 7800+ control pad, but most reviewers claim the paddles are much more precise and responsive for this game. Might be time to pull the trigger on those.

I purchased this game during the black Friday sale because I wanted a game to play with my new paddle controllers. Although the game play is simple it definitely is very challenging. I enjoy the simplicity of the game that is layered in a rich back story. Atari did well with the concept, the artwork, and the manual. I definitely felt like I was a kid again from 1982 playing my Atari.

Bought because of similarity with Kaboom! and the legacy of reportedly being the inspiration for that very game.

If you're into paddle games, especially Kaboom!, you need to check out Avalanche. A remake of an arcade classic it feels right at home on the 2600 with a paddle controller. Solid game for those that enjoy the old paddles.

Solid paddle game but different enough from Kaboom! and other paddle titles to warrant owning. Great pick up alongside the paddle pack.

This is simply an excellent paddle title. I was thrown into a Zen state playing this. Its just so mesmerizing and addictive! I found difficulty switches set to A, gave the boulders more sideways action while falling and this was much more fun and challenging!

Great game with the paddle controllers. Though is playable with joysticks or gamepads. Kind of reminds me of Kaboom from Activision.

Way better than i expected. Rocks that scatter in different directions was an awesome feature. I like this game way better than Kaboom!

Atari Avalanche 2600 is the best port of the Atari coin-op arcade video game that I wanted for my Atari 2600 home video game console. I rate this at ☆☆☆☆☆ out of five stars. Thank you very much Atari Interactive Inc. and John Champeau.

The newest batch of games are better than ever! The games are a blast, and the quality of the boxes and manuals is noticeably better than the prior offerings. Folding is well centered, the paper seems to be of better quality and the shrink wrap isn’t crushing the boxes like it frequently did in the past. I’m looking forward to the next games introduced with heightened anticipation!

Was a little disappointed with the slight delay but it was nothing to terrible (my butcher billy set took a year to ship). Very pleased with the production quality and selection of titles
