BREAK ON THROUGH TO THE OTHER SIDE

Take Breakout to a chaotic new dimension with this action-packed, neon-soaked take on the original. Breakout Beyond flips the legendary series on its head – or rather, its side. Play horizontally and break bricks in each puzzle to make your way through to a final goal. Developed by Choice Provisions (Bit.Trip), Breakout Beyond has an adrenaline-pumping soundtrack, new power-ups, and 72 original levels.

You can speed run from level to level or slow down, break every brick, and rack up higher scores and more intense effects. A focus mode allows you to slow down time at the expense of your score. If you want company in the chaos, tag in a friend to play local co-op.

The best Breakout game of all time

The best Breakout game of all time. Single player mode is fun, but playing it with a friend is laugh-out-loud hilarious crazy action! My middle school son and I burned through the first 40 levels in a single sitting. SO GOOD!

This game is infuriatingly difficult

This game is the most infuriating version of breakout to date. There have been countless times while playing that the bal will pass through the paddle as if it wasn’t there. Then other times it would get right to the paddle and just make a sharp curve in the opposite direction and miss entirely. There was no logic behind the speed of the ball half the time and at one point you get a flashing lightning ball that is so fast and distracting you can’t possibly keep track of it and just have to hope for blind luck that it hits the paddle. Do not buy.

Breakout with a twist

I was a teenager when Atari 2600 came out. Breakout was a big favorite. This game is awesome.
